frequently asked questions

Can I come for more than one session?

Absolutely, if we have space you can attend Day Farming on more than one day. You can attend both Day Farming and our other day service activities such as The Orchard and Walking Group also.

can i attend with my own support staff?

Yes, if you need extra support this can be provided by another provider. Natural Ability can also put in place one to one support if this is agreed as part of your support package.

how many other people will be attending the session?

Our sessions can welcome up to 8 individuals.

is transport provided to get to the centre?

Unfortunately, at present, attendees will need to make their own way to the pick up point at West Orchard House. We do however have vehicles that we use during sessions enabling the group to go out and about in the community.

Is my lunch provided?

No, you will need to bring a packed lunch and drinks for during the day.

what happens if the weather is too poor to work outside?

If we have weather warnings or poor weather conditions, we have a dedicated room, The Oak Room, within our building West Orchard House. An indoors session would take place during these times.

Do I have to live in Hexham to attend?

No, we welcome attendees from the wider Northumberland area and also other local authority areas.

does natural ability take private referrals?

Yes, we accept local authority commissioned services, personal budgets and privately funded referrals.

How much do the sessions cost?

Each session costs £57.76. This fee is reviewed annually.

What days and times does Day farming operate?

The Day Farming sessions run from 10am to 3pm. Sessions are currently offered on a Tuesday and a Thursday.
